Working Equitation

Since 2024, I have become an approved instructor for Working Equitation. This is fast growing sport that tests your rider & horsemanship skills to the limit. What is also great about this sport is that can make flatwork fun & interesting (especially if you do not want to jump) & gives you transferable skills to use while hacking.

Split into three or four phases, these include dressage (similar to traditional dressage), ease of handling around obstacles (dressage around up to 12 obstacles) & a speed round over the obstacles (like a jump off where anything goes). A fourth phase may include working with cattle at the highest level.

There are numerous obstacles each with their own challenges, these include the bull & vara (to the left), where there is as much skill needed in handling the vara (the long pole) while riding possibly through other obstacles at the same time. At the higher levels this is expected to be done at canter. at the highest level, all work including the dressage phase is to be done one handed!

Does the excite you? If yes, then please do in contact for more information on clinics or how we can proceed with some private sessions.
